Hello all!  I've been enjoying some wonderful, well deserved time off these past 2 weeks.  I'm happy to say though, that I'm back at it!  Thought I'd try some video editing.  It's my first one though, so don't be too critical!

Editor's Notes -- May 29th

Hope each and everyone of you got the chance to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend activities.  I spent an excellent weekend with my family.  We traveled down to the Williamsburg, Va via rte. 5.  We observed the plantations and other historic site along the way to the Jamestown colony.  I have to say that Williamsburg has done a fine job promoting the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown, and America.

• This week I've updated the recommended book lists with a couple of books that I have yet to read, but am really looking forward to. 
• I've added some social networking sites tool bar.
• Added a site of the week link as well.  This week, it's KIVA.  Please take a moment out of your day to check out this very special site and the remarkable people using it to change real lives.

Still working on just what I want to do with this site.  There's so much going on that falls outside the purview of a local, community focus, which is what I originally intended.  Feedback anyone?

Coming Attractions

God has blessed.  It's been a good week, if not a bit hectic.  I've got a couple things on tap for next week.  Here's the run down:

• I took the family up to the local Black History Museum and Cultural Center in Richmond, Va.  I'll have some pictures plus an impromptu interview to share.  Also, the museum is in financial straits.  Let's see if we can help.
• Bastards of the Party.  This documentary ran on HBO a while back.  I sat down with my 13 and 8 year old and we watched together the other day.  Be the first to hear their review!
• New batch of book reviews
• Video blog is rumored to be coming...!!

Self-Assigned Homework?

So it turns out that committing to blogging every night is kind of like assigning yourself a homework assignment!  Yours truly is quickly falling off the pace.  Coming at some point this week are the following:

1. This week's book review
2. Imus part 2;
3. Lessons from VT
4. 1 or 2 more photo albums
5. **video blog #1

So go ahead and start the caffeine drip now!

A Few Housekeeping Items...Part I

Just a couple of quick updates:

• I've added a link on the right hand menu that will allow you to subscribe to this site, should you for some strange reason desire to do so.  This should help for those of you (read: hi mary!) wondering just when the updates will be coming.  Just a hint, there's no rhyme or reason to the madness!
• I'm experimenting with different book lists.  Presently I'm sticking with Amazon.  I'll be changing them every 1 to 2 weeks as I complete/get exposed to new finds.  I'll probably be adding some sort of book review along with that...let's just wait and see on that one!
• Family/Friends:  I'm looking to get a little feedback on the kinds of content you'd like to see...so get clicking on those "comment" links and let me know!
• Lastly, I'm interested in adding authors.  I'm discriminating, just thought I'd warn you in advance.  But if you have thoughts, or articles you'd like posted, hit my email link and send them over.
